October Woodlot Visit

Location: Tony Bull's Lake Dore, certified woodlot

When: Oct 24th @ 9:30am

Directions: The property is on the Lake Dore Road, County Road 30, mid way between the village of Golden lake and Hwy 41. It is about a half kilometer east of the Royal Pines Road/Black Creek Road intersection on the Lake Dore Road. Visitors may enter by the main gate, number 1646, or at the woodlot entrance, first gate east of 1646. Look for flagging tape.

Woodlot: The Bull property is 40 hectares, the major part of which is treed. More than half is natural bush; some of it relatively recent and some dating from the time of the first settlement in the 1800's. About 15 hectares was thinned 4 years ago. The major part was in bush that had not been cut in over 40 years. The rest was a first thinning of the red pine planted in the 70's.

Note: Tony will have a pot of chili on and baguettes for those who can stay for lunch after the tour.

School Program Spring 2009

This year the school program involved St. Michael's and Admaston schools. The day long field trips were conducted on May 7th and 8th with follow up visits to the schools the next week.
